About this Course
This course is designed to train Human Rights Professional in a General practice of Human Rights before UN Tribunals. This is a One-year course in international law analysis and Human Rights Clinical Practice. The first part of the course will be an in-depth analysis of Human Rights Conventions, Treaties, Declaration, Resolution and their hierarchal value. The course covers the rights of the customary, international law, precedential value if any and the status of Individuals and the obligations of the State.
The Survey of law will take into Consideration the Americas, European, and African Human Rights Courts and the international obligation and rights of the Asian nations.
This course will educate the UN Human Rights trainee on the protocols, procedures, and techniques of a UN Human Rights Defender and connect that Defender with U.S NGO’s and the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders.

Exams and Certification:
Exams will be conducted on a regular basis. The learner must take all the exams and perform well. Their score will decide where they fail/pass on the grading scale. Learner Certification depends on these grades and the corresponding instructor feedback.
Grades may be as follows:
- "A" = this grade indicates that Defender Candidates have mastered the material as proven by their written work and performance on exams.
- "B" = this grade suggests that a student has shown a better than average understanding of the most important concepts, theories, and issues.
- "C" = this grade reflects that a student has met expectations and s/he has a similar understanding as most of his/her peers.
- "D" = this grade indicates that while the student has understood some material, there are important gaps in his/her understanding.
